Editorial Policy

LexMentor publishes student-focused legal education, exam preparation, and legal analysis. This policy explains how we research, write, review, source, and correct that work.

Last reviewed: 3 August 2026Editor: Advocate Aditya Sharma

1. Our editorial purpose

We write for law students, researchers, and examination aspirants who need an accurate answer in clear language. Each page should answer one distinct question, explain the governing rule, show how it applies, and help the reader revise it.

2. Source hierarchy

Legal propositions are checked against the strongest available source in this order:

  1. Legislation, rules, regulations, official notifications, and treaty text.
  2. Full judgments from courts or reliable official judgment repositories.
  3. Law Commission reports, committee reports, and official institutional material.
  4. Reputable books, journals, and secondary commentary used for context.

Secondary websites may help identify questions or authorities, but they do not replace verification from primary legal material.

3. Writing and review

  • The primary answer appears before extended detail.
  • Statutory provisions and cases are connected to the rule they support.
  • Examples, tables, and problem questions are used only when they aid comprehension.
  • Published pages identify the author or reviewer and show a review date where available.
  • A review date changes only after a substantive legal or editorial check.

Advocate Aditya Sharma leads LexMentor's editorial review. More information is available on the About page.

4. AI assisted tools

LexMentor may use AI assisted tools for outlining, language refinement, metadata, internal linking suggestions, and quality checks. AI output is not treated as a legal authority. Material intended for publication is reviewed for legal relevance, clarity, sourcing, duplication, and unsupported claims before it is approved.

5. Independence and originality

Search results and competing publications may be studied to understand reader intent and missing questions. LexMentor does not copy or mechanically paraphrase competing articles. Content must add independent structure, explanation, examples, or analysis. Rankings, traffic targets, or keyword counts do not override accuracy and usefulness.

6. Corrections and updates

If a statute, judgment, citation, answer, or explanation appears inaccurate, email contact.lexmentor@gmail.com with the page URL and the relevant source. Material corrections are reviewed and made as soon as reasonably possible. Pages may also be updated when the law changes or when a clearer explanation becomes available.

7. Educational use

LexMentor content supports study, research, and general legal understanding. It is not legal advice for a specific dispute, filing, deadline, or compliance decision. Readers should verify current law and seek qualified professional advice where needed.
